Joe Pilling

Joe has more than 18 years in IT recruitment and over 1,000 placements behind him. He started his career in London in 2007, recruiting IT contractors across both the government and financial services markets, before moving to Brisbane in 2012. He holds a BSc (Hons) in Computing.
In Brisbane he joined ITCOM, then spent ten years with Recon Solutions, which merged with Halcyon Knights, rising from Senior Consultant in IT contracting to Associate Director and then General Manager for Queensland. During that time the business was recognised nationally, including as TIARA's Best Large Recruitment Company to Work For in 2022.
In 2024 he co-founded Three with Tom Peard and Chris Young to raise the standard of recruitment. Joe works across financial services and local government transformation programs, and leads Three's operations, compliance and innovation, including its contractor payroll model and its use of AI.
Joe loves solving problems. He's at his best when a brief is complex, the market is short of candidates or a project needs a whole team: listening first, getting to the heart of what the client actually needs, and finding the solution others miss.
