Dan Furlong

Dan has more than nine years' experience in IT recruitment across Australia and the UK, and he started his career on the other side of the desk. Before recruitment he spent seven years in IT support and operations, from service desk and level 1–2 support to Active Directory, Exchange, Citrix and network administration. He understands the work, and he can talk to candidates and hiring managers in their own language.

He built his recruitment career in Brisbane at Halcyon Knights and Data#3, recruiting for corporate organisations and the Queensland public sector, and in 2022 was recognised by Sourcr as Queensland Technology Recruiter of the Year. He then spent two years with Lorien in London helping large corporates secure permanent and contract technology talent. Having worked with Three's founders before, he joined in January 2025 to launch Three's Legal and Mining division.

Today Dan recruits permanent and contract technology talent for law firms, mining and resources companies, regional Queensland clients and Three's national enterprise clients. He runs a thorough end-to-end process and is known for reaching the passive market: the strong, settled people who aren't on any job board. In mining he spends time on the ground across Central Queensland and the Bowen Basin, meeting site leaders face to face.
