Chris Young

Chris is far from the typical recruiter. He spent most of his career delivering complex business transformation, and he brings that experience to every search. He's hands on, leads searches personally, and clients deal with him directly rather than having their brief passed on.

He began his career on British Airways' general management graduate program in London, working across the UK, India, Asia and Australia, then moved to American Express, leading commercial card implementations across Australia and New Zealand. At Macquarie Group he rose from Senior Project Manager to Head of Payments Delivery, Core Banking, and Head of Business Banking and Mortgages Projects.

He went on to lead a major program for QSuper as Program Director, then became Managing Director of Project Partners, a professional services consultancy he grew from 4 to more than 40 consultants with 50:50 gender diversity, across financial services, mining and resources, government and commercial clients.

In June 2024 he co-founded Three with Joe Pilling and Tom Peard; Chris was first a client of Tom and Joe. He has worked alongside and led many of the roles Three recruits for, so he knows what it takes to land well in a demanding, changing environment. Technical skills are one data point; he also looks for people who can hold a real business conversation. He leads Three™ Advisory, and people work with him because he's genuine, straightforward, and cares about how he represents clients and candidates.
