Privacy policy
How we handle your information.
Three Recruitment (ABN 98 678 488 778) ("Three", "we", "us") respects your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use, store and disclose personal information, in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles. Last updated: October 2026.
What we collect
The information we collect depends on how you deal with us.
- Candidates: name, contact details, CV, employment and education history, skills, qualifications, work rights, salary or rate expectations, availability, referee details and reference outcomes, interview notes, and any information you choose to give us.
- Contractors we place: the above plus information needed to engage and pay you, such as tax file number, bank and superannuation details, timesheets, and details for benefits you choose, such as salary packaging or car leasing.
- Clients and referees: name, job title, organisation, contact details and records of our dealings with you.
- Website visitors: what you enter into our forms and tools, and general usage information described under "Website and analytics".
We don't ask for sensitive information, such as health information or racial or ethnic origin, unless it is genuinely needed for a role (for example a criminal history or security clearance check), and then only with your consent.
How we collect it
Mostly directly from you: when you register, apply for a role, send us your CV, use our website forms or career tools, speak with a consultant, or work with us as a client. We may also collect information from job boards and professional networks such as SEEK and LinkedIn, from referees you nominate, from our clients (for example interview feedback), and from screening providers you authorise.
AI career tools
Our free CV review, LinkedIn review and Job match tools send the document or text you provide to Anthropic, the provider of the Claude AI model, to generate your feedback. For Job match, the AI also searches public job listings on SEEK and LinkedIn.
- Three doesn't store your CV or results from these tools unless you choose to send them to us at the end.
- Anthropic processes the content on our behalf under its commercial terms, which don't permit it to use that content to train its models.
- AI feedback is general guidance generated automatically. It isn't a decision about you and isn't shared with employers.
If you choose to send your CV and review to us, we treat it like any other CV we receive, as described in this policy.
How we use it
- To find and offer you suitable roles, and to represent you to employers with your permission.
- To assess candidates for our clients' roles, including reference and other checks you agree to.
- To engage, pay and support contractors, and to meet our tax, superannuation and workplace obligations.
- To respond to enquiries, manage client relationships and provide our services.
- To send you relevant updates, such as roles or our salary survey. You can opt out at any time.
- To improve our website, tools and services, and to meet our legal obligations.
Who we share it with
We never sell your personal information. We share it only as needed for the purposes above, including with:
- Prospective employers and clients, with your permission before your CV is sent.
- Referees you nominate, and screening providers you authorise.
- Service providers who support our business, such as our recruitment database (JobAdder), email and office software (Microsoft 365), website hosting and forms (Netlify), AI processing (Anthropic), and payroll, accounting, salary packaging and car leasing providers.
- Government agencies and others where required or authorised by law.
Overseas storage
Some of our service providers store or process information outside Australia, including in the United States (for example Anthropic and Netlify). We take reasonable steps to make sure these providers protect your information in a way consistent with the Australian Privacy Principles.
Security and retention
We store personal information in secure systems with access limited to people who need it. We keep it only as long as we need it for our services and legal obligations, then delete or de-identify it. You can ask us to remove your details from our database at any time, subject to records we're legally required to keep.
Website and analytics
Our website may use analytics tools that set cookies to tell us how the site is used, such as which pages are visited. This information is aggregated and doesn't identify you. Our career tools store a small counter in your browser to limit daily use. You can block cookies in your browser settings.
Access and correction
You can ask for access to the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it, by emailing info@the3.com.au. We'll respond within a reasonable time, usually 30 days. If we refuse a request, we'll tell you why.
Complaints
If you have a concern about how we've handled your information, please contact our Privacy Officer at info@the3.com.au. We'll acknowledge your complaint and aim to resolve it within 30 days. If you're not satisfied, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.
